Introduction to the butt and pass log home community website

Once you have registered you now have a “presence” on the website. You are now a member of the butt and pass log home community.

The first thing I suggest you do is upload a profile picture so we can all see what you look like and then look around the forums, groups and knowledge base and try and find the information you are looking for.

Groups

Here you can look for a group that is discussing the topic that you are interested in and join. Once you are a member you can ask questions, help others and contribute.

If there is no group for the topic you are interested in, then you can create the group. If you have friends on the website and you think they share the same interest then you can invite them to join. Anyone (depending on how you set up the group) can join your group and together you can all help each other.

Groups can be formed for anything:

  • A general discussion topic – foundations
  • A very specific topic – slab foundations
  • A project that requires input from others to complete
  • A group formed to build a log home and share details
  • A group to detail your log home building project and share with others
  • There are unlimited types of groups you could create 🙂

Forums

Our forum is a discussion area where members can post discussions and read and respond to posts by other butt and pass log home community members. Our forum covers all aspects of log home building and our intention is to develop a strong sense of community among our website members by enabling everyone the opportunity to ask questions and offer help and advice.

Knowledge Base

The knowledge base is a collection of articles that offer help and explanations for every aspect of log home building. We hope to build the most comprehensive collection of articles so our members will have at their disposal all the information they need to build a butt and pass log home.

The knowledge base is a “member contributed” wiki and we depend on you to make it the best online resource for butt and pass log home builders. If you have an article you would like to add to the wiki please send here.

User Blogs

Do you have a story to tell and want to share it with everyone? Well you can with your own personal blog. You can use this to tell everyone what is going on with a project or use it as just a place to “vent” your feelings as you pursue your dream of building a butt and pass log home.

Menus and Settings

Please take some time to familiarize yourself with all the menus and settings. Don’t worry, you won’t break the website (I hope) and learning what menu / setting does what, will improve your overall experience of using the website.

The left menu

This menu is where you go to look around the website, to find groups, forums, knowledge base articles and members. Here you can interact with the website and contribute.

The right menu

This is “your” menu and here you can check what is going on, look at your notifications and messages, update your profile and alter your email notification settings.

If you have any questions or have found something “not quite right” then please contact us and we will try and fix it as quickly as possible.
